Unique Servo Wheel Triggers Most RC pilots have unused larger servo wheels that are normally quite useless. However, they can be used as the basis for two versions of a camera trigger that works from.
Gear UP/DOWN Version
Take one of those big wheels and chop it down so that it is
a cam, then you can take the gear UP/DOWN toggle switch and have it click the
camera as it moves either UP/DOWN or DOWN/UP. That is, as it rotates from 30
degrees left, it clicks at zero and moves on to 30 degrees right.
If there is any tendency for the servo to stall if the fit
is a bit too tight, assuming that it is only a slight error, it will work
through that as it rotates.

Centering Stick Version Using a large servo wheel where the centre has been flattened, the shutter trigger on the Aiptek camera is triggered when either full left or full right is given on the unused left stick rudder channel. No command equals a centred stick which relieves the pressure on the trigger

Servo with Lanyards to Trigger the Aiptek
This innovation is in two parts. The first stage was to create a simple method of triggering the Aiptek shutter. It is described in this thread. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...threadid=192537 The second step was to hook a second arm that would depress the ON/OFF and MODE switch. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=192988 The lanyards are set up so that a command to one side triggers the shutter. A command to the opposite side works the ON/OFF MODE switch. By counting the number of pulls on this lanyard, you can change the configuration in flight. Photos and design courtesy "Jimbo"
